Mr. Baker graduated from Georgia State University with a BBA degree in Accounting. After two years in the Navy, Mr. Baker went back to Georgia State University and earned a MBA in Finance. His career began with Tri-South Mortgage Investors as a loan workout officer. In 1976, Mr. Baker joined First Equities Corporation as a multi-family acquisition manager, where he completed 20 acquisitions totaling over 4,000 units. In 1979, Mr. Baker founded Invertors Realty Group, INC. As the presidents of IRG, he has concentrated on acquiring, managing, and owning 20,000 units. Currently, he is principal in 15 communities. Mr. Baker holds the value of relationships in the highest regard. His track record and relationships with long tern business associates confirm his commitment to these ideals.
Mr. Baker's hobbies include tennis, golf, fantasy baseball, and weightlifting. He is active in fundraising efforts for Holy Innocents Episcopal School and the Atlanta Food Bank. He has also enjoyed coaching girls basketball at all levels for the past five years. Mr. Baker has been married to his wife Lisa for 25 years and has three daughters.
Remembering the days of 16% debt, Mr. Baker has traditionally locked in fixed rate debt instead of variable rate. This created a debt jail scenario with ultimately led to the establishment of the Federal Loan Buydown Authority (FELBA).
Mr. Klejka has a B.B.A. in economics from University of Toledo. Before coming to FELBA he was responsible for the development and implementation of capital and operational budgets in excess of $5,000,000. Other operational duties included website management, POS management, and the development of various operational manuals and tools. He managed a large staff and was responsible for their training and management. Matt comes to FELBA with a strong background in client relationship development.
Mr. Carr has a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Iowa and a M.B.A. with an emphasis in accounting from DePaul University. He has been in the multifamily business since 1989 and is one of the industry's most versatile and strategic-minded leaders. He has served as Chief Financial Officer of third party multifamily manager First Communities Management for more than 20 years after serving in the residential accounting group for JMB Properties Company in Chicago.
